Exhibition: Nigel Grima: The Void of Criticism

Saturday 4 September - Saturday 23 October

Nigel Grima makes abstract image which reference fractals, stroboscopes, stereoscopes and kaleidoscopes. The recurrent themes are of repression, hidden meanings and identity. On the surface the work is beautiful, engaging and spiritual. But it’s also designed to question the very nature of abstract art.

He aspires to construct digital photo montages which still adhere to an illusion of reality. However, there content is abstract, as a preferable distraction from reality than figurative art. Nigel’s images are intended to be escapist, seen as both abstract and real, to make the abstract more believable.
